The faculty in the School of World Languages and Cultures are pleased to present the 2019 WLC Capstone Festival to be held Thursday and Friday, May 16-17, 2019, in WLC-North, Room 118. Students earning the B.A. in Japanese Language and Culture, and the B.A. in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures will present their capstone project work.
WLC's Dr. Rafael Gómez, Professor of Spanish, will be teaching a course on Global Communication Competency at Universidad de la Salle in Colombia in June and July of 2019. Scholarships are available for participants interested in study on this campus in Bogata.
Four CSUMB students have been accepted as participants in the Japan Education and Training (JET) program for Fall 2019.
Jonathan Dudrey and Kieran ‘Kai’ Jones participated in the 7th Annual Bay Area Japanese Speech Contest held March 30, 2019 at San Jose City College, and came home winners! Congratulations to Jonathan for his first-place finish and Kai on her second place win. Many thanks and congratulations to faculty member Ms. Tomoko Ogaki for coaching these students to a successful experience.
