Deepening Literacy for Emerging Language Learners

The CA EL Roadmap calls for intellectually rich learning experiences that emphasize engagement, interaction, discourse, inquiry, and critical thinking. This guidance, along with the rigor of the CA ELD Standards and ELPAC, compels us to examine how we develop and deepen our students’ literacy.

This two-day workshop will guide teachers in:

  • Utilizing high-impact literacy strategies that support CA ELD Standards and ELPAC preparation
  • Grounding instructional decisions for literacy in the CA EL Roadmap
  • Exploring connections between literacy instruction in Designated ELD and World Language courses
