Nature Detectives

This program engages kindergarten through third grade students as they get their hands (and feet!) dirty by becoming Nature Detectives at the UCSC Fort Ord Reserve System! The children’s experience revolves around four field stations, each of which are focused on different themes and associated activities including amphibians and reptiles, birds, insects, and mammals and bones. The stations are arranged several hundred meters apart along a one-mile loop, providing opportunities for children to compare what they had learned at each station to natural phenomena at the Fort Ord Reserve.
