Depending upon your role at CSUMB, you may be assigned mandatory online training through SkillPort. You will receive an e-mail if you are required to take the following course(s):
CSUMB staff and faculty have access to free online professional development courses, books, and videos through SkillSoft. There's a wide variety of topics available from customer service, communication, and teambuilding to very technical professional and IT certification courses. Review the Skillchoice information in the Related documents & forms for more information.
Managers/Department Chairs - Work with your staff to identify courses, such as the Administrative Support Curriculum or the Desktop courses, to enhance their work skills. Contact University Personnel if you want to assign specific courses to staff. Update and expand your management and leadership skills through the Management and Leadership Curriculum and 24x7 books and videos.
Staff - Discuss with your manager the courses you would like to take to enhance your work skills. Courses approved and assigned by your manager should be taken during work hours. Print and forward the certificate of completion to your manager. Use your personal time for personal development courses and 24x7 books and videos.
