9.2 Upgrade/Split & Rename

April 2018: On 4/9/2018, CSUMB successfully upgraded its Student Information System from 9.0 to 9.2. In addition, the database was split to part Student from Employee data. Doing so allowed us the opportunity to rename our systems: "OASIS" for Student Information and "CMS Employee Resources" for Employee Information. All CSUs will eventually upgrade and split their systems as well. CSUMB was part of a cohort of CSUs who went live in April 2018. The project lasted approximately 6 months and required a major collaborative effort between SIS, ASM (Administrative Systems Management), IS (Information Systems) Programmers and Functional Unit Analysts and their designated testers. Overall the project went smoothly with few issues reported by the broad user base from students to employees. For some time, our campus has been talking about renaming CMS to one that adds a CSUMB vibe. Our students were invited to participate in a "Rename" contest and successfully chose OASIS. Great job students and thank you too!
