During New Student Otter Orientation, there will be two opportunities to talk to various campus departments: one at a resource fair at the beginning of the day (students and supporters), one at an involvement fair during lunch (students only). Below is a listing of the various resources represented at each session and what you should consider asking them about.
Time: 8:00am-9:00am
Location: University Center Conference Rooms, 114-116
Immediately following check in, participants of orientation are encouraged to navigate the resource fair to interact with campus departments. This is a great opportunity to ask specific questions that are unique to your situation. All the departments at the resource fair are departments that you should get in contact with before arriving to campus in August. Once you've had your fill at the resource fair, head into the UC Ballroom for some light breakfast snacks and coffee before the Orientation Welcome begins at 9am! If you run out of time to ask questions at the resource fair, don't worry! Orientation will end before close of business, and participants will be able to visit any departments they still need to interact with before they leave for the day.
Time:
Location: In front of the University Center
During lunch, after they have had their fill, students will be guided by their Otter Orientation Leaders to navigate the involvement fair. Departments in Student Life, Otter Student Union, Health and Wellness, Campus Planning and Development, Equal Opportunity and Support Services, and many others will be tabling to discuss how students can get involved when they come to campus. With everything from events and clubs to partake in to student job and leadership opportunities, this is the place to discover how you will engage in the CSUMB community to enhance your Otter Experience.
