CSUMB nursing students have the opportunity to travel abroad to international destinations for the required NURS 365: Global Health and the Socio-Cultural Constructs of Health and Illness (3 units) course. This travel abroad courses highlight unique global health care related experiences that broaden awareness and heighten the diversity among our population.
Nursing students are able to take an active part in the CSUMB international study abroad program that provides rich experiences for students who can explore social and cultural meanings of health and well-being and understand the broader perspectives of health and illness. Nursing students can travel to Germany, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, Cambodia, India, England, Ireland, etc. This part of the mist/curriculum is meant to enhance the nurse's understanding of local and global population's health, health policies and an understanding of global connectedness.
