  • Dr. Ruth Zambrana discusses Latino Families & Their Health Across the Life Cycle

    Ruth Enid Zambrana is Professor in the Department of Women’s Studies, Director of the Consortium on Race, Gender and Ethnicity and adjunct Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Medicine. Zambrana’s work focuses on the intersection of gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, nativity and structural inequality with a focus on health and higher education. She is Principal Investigator of a study funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation entitled "Understanding the Relationship between Work Stress at U.S. Research Institutions’ Failure to Retain Underrepresented Minority (URM) Faculty."

    Kathy Ko Chin, president & CEO of the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF), spearheads the organization's efforts to influence policy, mobilize communities and strengthen organizations to improve the health of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AAs and NHPIs). Recognized as an authority on national health policy, Kathy is a renowned voice for the Asian American community and served on the President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

  • Lunch with Representative James E. Clyburn

    Representative Clyburn has served Congress since 1993 and as the Assistant Democratic Leader since 2011. In this role, he is the third-ranking democrat in the House behind House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer.
