Biography
Internships: Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, National Geographic Magazine Maayan is a continent-hopping illustrator and artist based in Southern California. She is still actively involved in atmospheric science research and is dedicated to science communication through visual and written mediums. Adventures in scientific art have taken her to the labs of researchers in the fields of neuroscience, biology, entomology and earth science, in addition to the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama. She aspires to observe her surroundings using both an imaginative eye, as well as the precise lens of science.
