Biography
Alexis Demetriades is a Berlin-based illustrator with a background in fine art and science illustration. Her work ranges from depictions of cutting-edge medical devices to hand-carved objects collected by explorers in the early 1900s. It has appeared in such diverse settings as The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and The Victoria and Albert Museum, and has been published by Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Springer-Verlag, and The Journal of the American College of Surgeons among others. Her goal is to present subjects in a light that clarifies and reveals otherwise-hidden qualities in a visually exciting way.
