Introduction to analog and digital audio production techniques. Topics include microphone design and pickup patterns, analog electronics, live instrumental and vocal tracking, concepts from acoustics and psychoacoustics, session management, and introductory mixing with industry-standard software applications. Students create original music and must play an instrument or sing in group recording sessions outside of class meeting times. (Prereq: MPA306)
