Otter Wellness Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Otter Wellness Challenge! Health and Wellness Services and University Personnel are excited to partner to assist members of our campus community to achieve and maintain wellness - we are happy you are taking on this challenge.

Dates

Challenge Goals

During the four week challenge participants will:

  • Increase attention to their wellness
  • Adjust behaviors in a way that will positively affect their wellness
  • Engage in wellness activities with others

How it Works

Each week participants will receive a newsletter highlighting different dimensions of wellness and goals. The more healthy decisions you make, the more opportunities you have to win prizes.

  • Weeks start on Monday and end on Sunday
  • Open to students, staff and faculty
  • You must complete a weekly survey to be entered into an opportunity drawing. Complete a survey all 4 weeks to be entered into the drawing 4 times and increase your chances of winning a prize. The first survey will be provided on April 8th.
  • Prizes will be given out at the end of the challenge

Reporting Your Progress

  • Complete your survey every Monday, first survey will be provided on April 8th
  • Keep in mind, the wellness goals are suggestions and they may not be right for everyone (if you don't like one, don't do it!)
  • Make up your own wellness goal and review how you're doing weekly.

Participation and Confidentiality Agreement

Participating in this challenge is voluntary. Please consider your personal health and well-being as you participate. Tips, activities and events suggested are meant to be supportive to your health and not meant to cause you strain or injury. Please only participate in ways which are safe and comfortable for you.

Otter Wellness Challenge coordinators will have access to all that you voluntarily submit such as your registration form, release of liability, weekly progress reports, and pre- and post-surveys.

For Employees:

The Otter Wellness Challenge is open to all staff, faculty and students on a volunteer basis. Employees who desire to participate in the Otter Wellness Challenge are required to do so on their own time and not during scheduled work hours. If an employee wishes to participate in an activity that conflicts with their regular work schedule, then the employee must seek approval from their manager prior to participating.

Participants can withdraw from the Otter Wellness Challenge at any time and request their information be deleted by contacting jelopez@csumb.edu or 831-582-3953.
