Dhan Khadka

Dr. Khadka was born in the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal, the land of Mt. Everest, the birthplace of Lord of Peace Gautama Buddha, and the beautiful landlocked sovereign country located in South Asia.

He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics and Material Science from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He also received MS Degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, Mississippi in August 2008. He received his Doctoral degree in applied Physics from the University of South Florida in August 2013.

Dr. Khadka has nearly 12 years of college level teaching experience. He has taught a broad range of physics courses and laboratories at different colleges and Universities in USA and Nepal including California State University Monterey Bay, San Jose City College, University of South Florida, University of Southern Mississippi and St. Xavier's College. He has taught general physical science courses, standard introductory algebra and calculus-based physics courses, Modern Phyaics, Mechanics and upper-division physics courses and laboratories for diverse students population.

Dr. Khadka's general research interests are at the interface of biophysics, material science and nanobiotechnology. His research focused on synthetic peptide-based nanostructured biomaterials design, synthesis and characterization for the medical applications. He utilize electrospinning and molecular self-assembly techniques to synthesize biomaterials and use several spectroscopy, electron microscopy and microscopy tools to characterize biomaterials. He has published more then 10 peer-reviewed journals, given a number of invited talks, and presented his research works at over 25 international, national and local conferences.

He lives in Pacific Grove, California with his wife, son and daughter. He enjoys his leisure time playing outdoor games, hiking and biking.
