Note: Course requires 3-5 hours of community service per week in addition to class attendance.
Through the examination of a wide variety of artistic and cultural expressions, this course establishes the connection of the arts to social change and community building. Students will learn about the sociocultural, aesthetic and critical components of works of art associated with social change, exploring issues of identity, diversity, privilege, culture, and justice while participating in community service. Requires a minimum of 30 hours of community service in addition to class time.
