One of the last great catastrophes to befall states and nations across the world was that of the Little Ice Age of the seventeenth century. As much as one third of the human population succumbed during this crisis as a consequence of climate change and global war. How did societies deal with this challenge and how did it affect later pathways of development? As part of a project-based learning approach, students will develop the skills for examining primary and secondary sources, writing book and literature reviews, and presenting findings from historical research. (Prereq: GE Areas A1 and A2 and A3 with a C- or better)
