It interprets specific cases and addresses historical specificity in a small number of cases (such as countries, communities). It explores combined strategies including variable-oriented analyses supplemented with case studies, and case studies reinforced with quantitative analyses, as well as global social phenomena explored within their contexts using a variety of data sources and multiple conceptual lenses.
