This course introduces students to the history, social, legal, economic, political and technological aspects of mass media, which includes books, newspapers, magazines, radio, television, movies, the Internet and more. Students also are introduced to basic mass communication theories such as gatekeeping, agenda-setting, and media framing.(Prereq: GE Areas A1 and A2 and A3 with a C- or better)
