Instructor

    This graduate elective course is designed to enhance practitioners' empathic understanding of the nature of a traumatic experience from the child's perspective, and how traumatic experiences and their aftermath may influence the person's life. This focus on the impact of trauma on the child and family provides a foundation for assessment, crisis intervention, and intervention planning leading to the provision of effective, tailored services that reflect the client's unique needs and strengths. (Prereq: SW 540) (Restricted to MSW Students)
