OnBase is an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system that provides an information platform to manage electronic documents and automate business processes.
CSUMB utilizes OnBase to store and retrieve documents, automate business processes via forms and workflow, integrate with CMS/PeopleSoft and provide real-time reporting and analytics.
If you would like to learn more about the capabilities of OnBase you can watch a preview video.
Most campus users will take advantage of the OnBase Web client. The Web client allows users to retrieve documents, process workflows and view reports via modern versions of Chrome/Firefox/IE web browsers.
To access the Web client visit: https://onbase.csumb.edu.
To fully leverage the features of the Web client, it is recommended you take the in-depth training. See the OnBase Training Resources section below to register an account.
Some high frequency users may want to utilize the Unity client. Like the Web client, Unity offers the ability to retrieve documents, process workflows and view reports. In addition, Unity offers some unique features such as a PeopleSoft integration tool called Application Enabler as well as Virtual Printer Driver which allows for instant import of digital documents into OnBase.
The Unity client can be installed on your computer and run in the background. If you think you may be a candidate for using the Unity client, please speak to your respective department lead.
