
Raised in downtown of Moscow and in the backwoods of Russia's forests, Sofia's father/scientist encouraged her artistic abilities from a very young age. As a result, Sofia and her two brothers grew to be artists and sculptors, opening their first studio in Moscow while still in the university. While she enjoyed working with her family and creating masterpieces for distinguished clientele from Russia's elite art loving community, Sofia dreamed of one day opening her own museum for children's art.****
After graduating with an MFA* * in Fine Arts from the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts & Design, she then moved to Egypt for a few years, before finally settling down in Bay Area in California where continued her studies, earning her MA in Art History, MAED in Child Development, and currently is a Candidate in PhD in Leadership in Higher Education.****
A professional artist, art educator and art historian, curriculum development specialist, trainer and educational technology professional, Sofia has been using her diverse skillset to build a place where children from all over the country and world can show case their inner artist, while developing Kids Art Museum a non-profit art educational facility.****
As an educational researcher, she works on longitudinal research on creativity development in young children. Sofia is also an author of several publications in the areas of art education, child development, attention and creativity development, art history and use of technology in education. ****
