Jonathan Arana

Jonathan Arana began teaching part-time at CSU Monterey Bay in January 2015 and continues to moonlight as a lecturer as his schedule permits. He is eager to incorporate his practical work experience, learn-by-doing approach, and humor into his teaching.

Jonathan Arana is also a full-time Software Solutions Architect and Senior Software Engineer for the Department of Defense: Defense Manpower Data Center. As a Software Solutions Architect and Senior Software Engineer his work entails performing Software Architecture, Software Design, and establishing engineering processes/standards for 470+ applications ranging from small local apps up to enterprise level systems as well as Software Implementation duties on several infrastructure and client applications.

His interests/hobbies include running, hiking, playing guitar, motorcycling, music, anime, reading sci-fi/fantasy books, DD&D, teaching, cycling, video gaming, movies, comic books, board games, snowboarding, playing soccer, playing softball.
