Biography

My background includes an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, from the California State University in Monterey Bay, CA, and a graduate degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology from the Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. During my education toward my Master's degree I worked as a Graduate Teaching Associate where I instructed undergraduate students in the laboratory disciplines of Exercise Physiology and Electrophysiology. I also co-instructed a university-required health lecture/online course for undergraduates.

During my education I did extensive research into many areas of Exercise Physiology and was fortunate enough to get experience with testing many collegiate athletes and triathletes. I performed VO2 max testing, various forms of evaluating body composition, effects of exercise on blood pressure, glucose metabolism, substrate utilization, and studied hormone levels, lactate production, and how altitude and environment are effected by bouts of exercise. Even though my main focus was physiology, I was able to gain an understanding in a well-rounded genre of disciplines such as Biomechanics, Motor Learning, Neurophysiology, and Strength and Conditioning.

I have also been involved in many guest lecture presentations, with instructors at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA, on the topics of Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, and physical activity/fitness.
