Dr. Babita Gupta is Professor of Information Systems and the Director of AACSB Accreditation at the College of Business, California State University Monterey Bay. She teaches courses in information technology innovation strategies, business intelligence & analytics, database management, and information systems for decision making. Her research interests are in the areas of online security and privacy, business intelligence strategies, technology adoption, and the role of culture in IT. She has published in journals such as the Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS), Journal of Electronic Commerce Research (JECR), the Journal of Strategic Information Systems (JSIS), the Communications of the ACM (CACM), the Journal of Industrial Management and Data System, the Journal of Scientific and Industrial Research, the Journal of Information Technology Cases and Applications, and the Journal of Computing and Information Technology.
She serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Teradata University Network, a non-profit division of Teradata.com. Dr. Gupta is also elected to serve as the Treasurer of the Association for Information Systems Women’s Network (AISWN), a college of the AIS, for the year 2017. She has also served as the elected Chair of the Special Interest Group on Decision Support and Analytics (SIGDSA) under AIS organizing the Pre-ICIS Symposium on “Innovations in Data Analytics” in Dublin, Ireland. Additionally, she also served on the Board of Directors of the California Coastal Rural Development Corporation from 1999-2010.
