SW 455: Social Work with Older Adults

Course description

Overview of the impact of aging, using the biopsychosocial-spiritual, ecological, and strengths perspectives. Federal, state, and local programs, services, and social policies are reviewed. Generalist practice models are introduced for working with older adults and their families, with a focus on empowerment. The roles of bachelor-level social workers and career opportunities are examined. (Prereq: SW 310 with a C- or better)
