SBS 355: Archaeological Theory

Course description

A survey of anthropological theories that inform contemporary archaeological thought and practice in the United States. Students trace the evolution of archaeological theory and its application to our understanding of the past. Primary themes include evolutionary, environmental, structural, functional, economic, processual and post-processual approaches. (Prereq: GE Areas A1 and A2 and A3 and B4 with a C- or better)
