SBS 333: Forensic Anthropology

Course description

This course combines cold case studies from archaeology, forensics, and biological anthropology in the analysis of the signs for blunt force trauma, strangulation, projectile wounds, dismemberment, disease, conflict-related violence, cannibalism, and mass murder. Peri-mortem and post-mortem indications from hard and soft anatomy underpin our examination of the coldest cases. The SBS 333L Forensic Anthropology Lab option constitutes a complimentary practicum, or hands-on approach to the study of human skeletal anatomy. (Prereq: GE Areas A1 and A2 and A3 and B4 with a C- or better)
