HCOM 411: Media Law and Policy

Course description

Students develop an understanding of laws and policies regulating media industries, and those related to the public as both producers and consumers of media content, by examining legal cases and contemporary case studies. The course covers the 1st Amendment, the FCC, defamation, privacy, fair use, social media and more. (Prereq: GE Areas A1 and A2 and A3 with a C- or better)
