CHEM 210: Organic Chemistry for Biologists

Course description

Survey of organic compounds, with an emphasis on biological processes. Nomenclature, structure in two and three dimensions, and reaction mechanisms are explored. Emphasizes structure and reactivity of common functional groups found in biomolecules, including carbohydrates and peptides. [(Prereq: CHEM 111 with a C- or better) and (Coreq: CHEM 210L)]
